Indian giant Adani Group's 250MW wind power project located in Khavda, Gujarat has officially commenced operations. The project adopts a single 5.7MW wind turbine, which also brings the cumulative wind power installed capacity of Adani Group to 2250MW. This also marks the official launch of the world's largest renewable energy project.
The wind power project put into operation this time is the first large-scale renewable energy project of Adani Group, with a total installed capacity of 30GW, including 26GW of solar energy and 4GW of wind power projects. It is said that once fully completed, this large-scale project will become the world's largest renewable energy project.
Adani Group is the largest infrastructure enterprise in India, with business scope covering energy extraction such as power generation and transmission, coal, and is also expanding into renewable energy, airports, and other fields. The group is owned by India's new richest man, Gautam Adani.
India has become one of the top five wind power markets in the world, and not only Chinese wind power companies have taken action, but the huge growth has also made local companies ambitious. Adani Group has been relatively active in the global wind power field this year. Not only are there rumors of an intention to acquire Siemens Gamesa's Indian assets, but there are also plans to invest in building a 500MW wind farm in Sri Lanka. Editor/Zhao E
