On December 3, 2021, the China-Laos Railway was officially put into operation, opening a new chapter in economic and trade cooperation between China and Laos and Southeast Asia. As of September 16, 2024, the China-Laos Railway has supervised the inspection and release of a total of 10.002 million tons of import and export goods, with a value of 40.77 billion yuan. During this period, the structure of the goods carried was significantly optimized, and the categories increased significantly from more than 500 to more than 3,000. In particular, in the first eight months of 2024, both cargo volume and cargo value have achieved significant growth, showing strong economic and trade vitality. At the same time, the China-Laos Railway + China-Europe Railway Express international intermodal transport mode runs smoothly, promoting a wider range of international trade.
