On August 30, 2024, Nanjing Jiangbei New Area welcomed the grand groundbreaking ceremony of the Yangtze Yangba Light Hydrocarbon Comprehensive Utilization Project. The Yangtze Yangba Light Hydrocarbon Comprehensive Utilization and New Materials Project, as an important national level foreign investment introduction project and a flagship project for promoting the transformation and upgrading of the petrochemical industry under the 14th Five Year Plan of Jiangsu Province, has a significant strategic position. The project is jointly funded and launched by Chinese petrochemical giant and German BASF Group through close cooperation between their affiliated companies, Yangzi Petrochemical and Yangba Company. The core highlight of the project lies in the construction of three advanced process units and their supporting facilities, including an ethylene unit with an annual production capacity of 1 million tons.
