On September 9, 2024, CTG Sichuan Energy Investment successfully completed its first million-kilowatt photovoltaic project in Charlie, Aba County: the first phase of the "Photovoltaic+N" project, achieving 250,000 kilowatts of full-capacity grid-connected power generation, marking an important step for CTG in the field of photovoltaic power generation in Aba Prefecture, Sichuan Province.

Charlie's "PV+N" project, as the flagship photovoltaic project of the Three Gorges Corporation in Sichuan, has a total planned scale of up to 1.1 million kilowatts and will be implemented in two phases. The first phase of the 250,000 kilowatt project adopts centralized power generation technology, with a total investment of about 1.3 billion yuan, setting a record for the scale of the Three Gorges Group's grid-connected photovoltaic power generation projects in an area above 3,500 meters above sea level.

The project is located in Aba County, which is not only a water source protection area for the upper reaches of the Yangtze River and Yellow River, but also home to the Ruoergai National Wetland Park. After the first phase of the project is put into operation, it is expected that the annual power generation capacity will reach 456 million kWh, which is equivalent to reducing the consumption of about 137,300 tons of standard coal and further reducing about 377,100 tons of carbon dioxide emissions per year, contributing to environmental protection and climate change response.

In addition, the project also actively practices the concept of animal husbandry and photovoltaic complementation, and achieves a win-win situation of ecological protection and economic benefits through the rational use of land under photovoltaic panels, which is of far-reaching significance for promoting the high-quality development of local social economy. At the same time, this successful case also provides valuable experience and reference for the development of photovoltaic power generation projects in high-altitude areas in the future.
