On April 1st, China Railway Harbin Group Co., Ltd. announced that the import freight volume of Manzhouli Railway Port in the first quarter of 2025 reached 5.1204 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 1.9%, setting a new historical high for the same period. As the largest land port in China, this station has compressed the time for cargo exchange to 8 hours and improved efficiency by 25% through innovative operation modes, becoming a key pivot to ensure the efficient operation of China Europe freight trains.

Core measures:

Process optimization: Implement the "full category open pickup+classified replacement" mode, with specialized areas for coal, fertilizer and other goods for division of labor operations

Equipment upgrade: 28 cranes and intelligent loading and unloading equipment operate 24 hours a day, with a maximum daily loading volume exceeding 30000 tons

Linkage mechanism: Establish a "train pre notification" system with Russian stations, and increase the turnover speed of wide gauge trains by 30%

Diao Yanbing, director of the loading and unloading workshop at Manzhouli Station, stated that in response to the concentrated arrival of imported fertilizers, the station has innovated a "human-machine dual standby" mechanism - operators and equipment enter the site one hour in advance and are on standby, and the equipment is guaranteed to operate with zero faults through dynamic maintenance. At present, the port receives and sends more than 12 China Europe freight trains per day, exporting over 150000 tons of infrastructure materials such as steel rails, providing stable logistics support for domestic and international dual circulation.

With the deepening of infrastructure connectivity along the the Belt and Road, the port is expanding an intelligent freight yard of 100000 square meters. It is expected that the annual cargo handling capacity will exceed 40 million tons after it is put into operation at the end of 2025, further consolidating its position as a hub of the Eurasian Continental Bridge.
