In 2025, during the China Shandong Malaysia Economic and Trade Cooperation Exchange Conference, Shandong Expressway Group and Malaysia PTT Collaborative Group reached an important cooperation and officially signed the Malaysia Smart Warehousing Project Framework Agreement. This signing marks the substantive stage of cooperation between the two sides in the field of smart logistics, and has become a new highlight of China Malaysia economic and trade cooperation.

The project will be simultaneously promoted in several important states in Malaysia, including Selangor, Johor, Pahang, and Terengganu. It plans to build modern smart warehousing facilities with a total designed capacity of 2 million pallet spaces. The total investment of the project is about 6 billion ringgit (equivalent to 10.2 billion yuan), and it will create a regional smart logistics hub by introducing advanced intelligent warehouse management systems, automated loading and unloading equipment, and Internet of Things technology.

After the completion of the project, it will significantly enhance Malaysia's national warehousing capacity and logistics efficiency, and promote the transformation and upgrading of local industries towards intelligence and modernization. At the same time, this project will drive the "going global" of related industries such as intelligent equipment, building materials, and information technology in Shandong Province, China, providing an important platform for Shandong enterprises to expand their international markets and further enhancing the brand image of "Made in Shandong" in the international market.

This cooperation is an important measure for Shandong Expressway Group to actively respond to the the Belt and Road Initiative and deepen international production capacity cooperation. It shows the cooperation potential of China and Malaysia in the field of infrastructure construction and injects new momentum into regional economic and trade exchanges. Editor/Yang Beihua
