Recently, China Power Construction Corporation (referred to as "PowerChina") successfully won a huge photovoltaic project order in Saudi Arabia, with a total contract value of billions of yuan, marking China's high recognition in the international market for its design, construction, and integration capabilities in the field of overseas new energy.

On the evening of October 10th, China Power Construction Corporation announced that its subsidiary, China Hydropower Construction Group International Engineering Co., Ltd., and China Power Construction Group East China Survey and Design Institute Co., Ltd., have formed a consortium with China Power Construction Group Co., Ltd. They have officially signed engineering contracts for the "Shatafef 1 Photovoltaic IPP Project" and "Shatafef 2 Photovoltaic IPP Project" with Shatafef Renewable Energy Company. The announcement shows that the contract amounts for the two projects are approximately 5.843 billion yuan and 5.876 billion yuan respectively, with a total investment of 11.719 billion yuan. Both projects are located in Afif Town, Riyadh Province, central Saudi Arabia. The core project includes the construction of a photovoltaic power plant with a total capacity of up to 2000 megawatts, supporting 33/132kV booster stations, 132kV transmission lines, as well as grid connection facilities, interface facilities, and related connecting roads. According to the plan, the construction period for both projects is 26 months.

The successful signing of these two major projects is not only another major breakthrough for China Power Construction in the international new energy market, but also a successful example of deep collaboration and integration between "China Construction" and "China Design" for going global. The implementation of the project will effectively promote the optimization of Saudi Arabia's local energy structure and economic diversification strategy, while also laying a solid foundation for Chinese enterprises to continue participating in and leading the construction of global green energy infrastructure.
