The designed total installed capacity of the power station is 1.8 million kilowatts, with an expected annual power generation of 1.914 billion kilowatt hours. As a key project in China's "Medium - and Long Term Development Plan for Pumped Storage (2021-2035)", the Youxian Pumped Storage Power Station will mainly undertake key functions such as peak shaving, valley filling, energy storage, and frequency regulation of the Hunan power system after completion.
