Recently, China Power Construction Corporation (PowerChina) has once again spread good news in overseas markets - the company has successfully won the bid for the third section of the pile foundation project of the Penang Light Rail Transit (LRT) project in Malaysia. With outstanding comprehensive strength and efficient project management capabilities, China Power Construction Corporation has become the only Chinese funded enterprise shortlisted for this major infrastructure project. This is also the second bid section won by the company in this light rail project, fully demonstrating the strength of China Construction's brand in international market competition.
The Penang Light Rail Project, as a key municipal engineering project in Malaysia, has a total length of about 29 kilometers and 21 stations. After completion, it will effectively connect Penang Island with the core area of the province of Perak, greatly alleviate local traffic pressure, and have strategic significance in promoting regional economic coordinated development, improving the quality of public transportation services, and enhancing urban livability. The project has a tight schedule and strict standards, which place extremely high demands on the qualifications, technical and management capabilities of the construction enterprise.

China Power Construction Corporation has a deep foundation in the field of infrastructure treatment in Malaysia, and has participated in and completed multiple landmark engineering projects, including the foundation treatment projects of Malaysia Metro Line 1 (MRT1-V2), Light Rail LRT3-GS02/03, Metro Line 2 (MRT2-203/206/208) and other sections, as well as major projects such as the construction of the 106 Trading Tower, the underpass tunnel of Merdeka 118 Building, and the underground garage of KLCC Twin Towers. These successful practices, especially their outstanding performance under complex geological conditions, fully verify the solid professional technical strength and outstanding brand influence of China Electric Power Construction.
This second bid not only consolidated the advantageous position of POWERCHINA in Malaysia's infrastructure construction market, but also added another wonderful footnote to the deepening of infrastructure cooperation between China and Malaysia under the "the Belt and Road" initiative. China Power Construction Corporation will continue to leverage its comprehensive advantages in technology, management, and international operations to contribute Chinese wisdom and strength to improving local infrastructure and promoting regional connectivity.
