[The bidding for the upgrade project of Guangzhou East Station has been launched] As a key carrier of Guangzhou's "high-speed rail into the city" strategy, the project spans Tianhe District, Huangpu District, and Zengcheng District, starting from Guangzhou East Station in the west and ending at Xintang Station in the east, running parallel to the existing Guangzhou Shenzhen Railway. The core includes two major sections: the renovation and expansion of Guangzhou East Station, and the construction of Guangzhou East to Xintang Line 5 and 6. Among them, Guangzhou East Station will achieve a doubling and upgrading of its scale, with the station yard expanding from the existing 7 stations with 16 tracks to 14 stations with 24 tracks. It will adopt a "ground+underground" double decker yard design, with 8 stations with 14 tracks in the ground yard and 6 stations with 10 tracks in the underground yard. The total building scale will reach 560000 square meters, and the passenger throughput capacity will achieve a qualitative leap. The newly built Guangzhou East to Xintang Fifth and Sixth Line has a total length of about 30 kilometers, a designed speed of 200 kilometers per hour, and a bridge tunnel ratio of up to 85.17%.
