Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam led a delegation to visit the Tashkent IT Park in Uzbekistan to conduct on-site research on the current development status of the local digital economy and the planning of the science and technology innovation industry.

On site investigation of the digital industry

The two regions have reached a consensus on cooperation in areas such as digital upgrading, artificial intelligence applications, and entrepreneurship incubation, jointly building the Digital Silk Road and further expanding the breadth of scientific and technological innovation, economic and trade cooperation between China and Uzbekistan. The Ukrainian side showcased core digital infrastructure achievements such as the UZINFOCOM platform, DMED digital ecosystem, MyID biometric system, and MyGov government portal on site.

Determine diversified cooperation directions

The two sides conducted special exchanges on digital transformation, the landing of artificial intelligence, entrepreneurial incubation, venture capital, co construction of science and technology parks, and market interconnection, and explored the application direction of artificial intelligence in government, education, healthcare and other scenarios in conjunction with Uzbekistan's 2030 Artificial Intelligence Development Strategy.

Li Jiachao fully affirmed the achievements of digital construction in Uzbekistan, and the two places have clearly stated their intention to deepen cooperation in the fields of digital technology, innovation investment, and start-up enterprises.

Accelerating Digital Reform in Central Asia

Uzbekistan is steadily advancing the Digital Uzbekistan 2030 Development Plan, vigorously developing the digital economy, building a technological ecosystem, accelerating the industrialization of artificial intelligence, and continuously optimizing the digitalization of public services.

At present, there is an urgent need to introduce international scientific and technological innovation resources, mature digital government solutions, and capital market forces to fill the gaps in entrepreneurship incubation, venture capital, technological upgrading, and other aspects.
