On September 28, the Pudong section (cross-river section-Wuzhou Avenue) project of the riverside channel officially started construction.

The Pudong section (cross-river section-Wuzhou Avenue) project along the river channel was jointly invested and constructed by Shanghai Urban Investment Group and Pudong New Area. The main line is mainly elevated, the starting point is connected with the reserved point of the river crossing tunnel project, along S20 to the south, turning to the east near Wuzhou Avenue, grounding at the Gaodong toll station area, connecting to the G40 interchange, and arranged in two-way 6 lanes . On both sides of the main line of the Shuangjiang Road-Zhouhai Road range, new ground auxiliary roads will be built. The scale of the two-way 4-6 lanes is about 10.5 kilometers.

The channel along the river is a part of the first ring, thirteen shots, one vertical and one horizontal, and one ring of the urban high-speed trunk line. The entire riverside passage starts from Fuchang Road, G1503 Suburban Ring Expressway in Baoshan District in the west, and ends at the G40 No.5 Gou Interchange of G1503 Suburban Ring Expressway in Pudong New Area. The project is about 33 kilometers long and is divided into a cross-river tunnel section, a Puxi junction section and The third section of the Pudong section will be constructed; once the riverside passage project is completed, it will be combined with the Tongsan National Road, the Southeastern Suburb Ring, and the Pudong Suburb Ring to turn the C-shaped suburban ring into an O shape, forming a length of about 208 kilometers The complete ring will also become the longest ring road in Shanghai.

Among them, the suburban ring tunnel (cross-river tunnel section) was opened to traffic on December 28, 2019. The Puxi connection section (Jiangyang North Road-Mudanjiang Road) has been fully advanced since April 2020. Among them, the Puxi connection section (Jiangyang North Road-Fuchang Road) that is the west extension of the Yangtze River channel (Jiangyang North Road-Fuchang Road) will be rebuilt in May 2020. After the Pudong section of the Yangtze River Passage is completed and opened to traffic, it will effectively improve the efficiency and safety of road traffic, and divert the freight traffic pressure in areas such as the S20 outer ring.
