The Lusail Stadium, the main venue of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, undertaken by China Railway Construction International Group, has a bowl-shaped overall appearance with a saddle-shaped roof and a wave-shaped membrane structure. The outer curtain wall is a golden hyperboloid aluminum curtain wall, just like a single The magnificent golden bowl perfectly presents the design inspiration of the project based on the date palm bowl and enamel lantern. The project has a total construction area of 190,000 square meters and can accommodate more than 92,000 spectators. It is the largest and most complex cable-membrane structure system of its kind in the world. It is also the largest and most accommodating professional built by Chinese companies overseas. The venues will undertake important activities and competitions such as the closing ceremony and finals of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The project department coordinated 110 large-scale subcontractors from 15 countries around the world, and more than 4,600 Chinese and foreign builders worked together to overcome overseas epidemics, high temperature and humidity, complex processes, and cross-construction problems. At present, the main part of the project has been completed, and the project has entered the final commissioning stage. In March 2021, the Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Khalid of Qatar stated during the project inspection that the project is a landmark project of practical cooperation between China and Qatar.

"During the installation of the roof membrane structure of the project, about 10,000 hoisting times were completed in only half a year, setting the local daily average hoisting record." said Liu Dawei, deputy general manager and project manager of China Railway Construction International Group Middle East Regional Company. During overseas epidemics, the project department has repeatedly invited epidemic prevention experts to explain epidemic prevention and control knowledge to Chinese and foreign employees, conduct epidemic prevention drills, purchase a large amount of epidemic prevention supplies, and distribute them to all project personnel such as subcontractors, partners, and owners to implement epidemic prevention and control requirements . At the same time, it reasonably deploys manpower, rushes for construction time, strives for timeliness, recruits foreign employees to fill the production team, implements material supply channels, launches precision installation technology competition, BIM technology application competition, innovates construction technology, optimizes construction organization, and stimulates construction enthusiasm for employees. The project was implemented smoothly.

In December 2020, the Lusail Stadium was listed on the local currency of Qatar. This is also the first time "built in China" has been listed on the currency of Qatar. During the construction process, the project was widely praised by local politicians and media in Qatar, which led to the signing and smooth implementation of multiple projects, forming a rolling development in the local area.
