Daye City has sufficient sunlight and has a significant advantage in developing the photovoltaic industry. On April 18, 2022, the Daye Municipal Government, Jidian Photonics and Smart Technology held the "Daye New Energy Project Signing Ceremony and Changye New Energy Unveiling Ceremony". The Daye New Energy Project has an installed capacity of 2.8GW (one billion watts of power generation capacity), with a total investment of about 12 billion yuan.

After the signing, the three parties will use Hubei Optics Valley Dongchangye New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. as a platform to jointly plan the new energy base in Daye City and promote the development and construction of photovoltaic projects in the whole city of Daye. JEOL will provide the project with greener, more efficient and lower cost perovskite photovoltaic module products.

The Daye Municipal Government is also actively promoting the green transformation of the energy system and the advancement of green and low-carbon technologies. In 2021, the government has reached a new energy investment cooperation intention with Jiguang Energy and Smart Technology, which proposes a new direction for the construction of green power Daye. Daye's catch-up development is inseparable from the support of high-quality projects. The Daye New Energy Development Project is a new energy project jointly invested by us, Smart Technology and Jidian Solar.

The three parties will jointly promote centralized power stations and distributed photovoltaic projects in Daye City. The development of distributed photovoltaics in Daye City can not only make full use of idle roof resources, improve the utilization rate of renewable solar energy resources, but also effectively avoid the high loss of traditional high-voltage long-distance power transmission. Although the roofs of Daye City are rich in resources and have great development potential, the roofs are widely distributed, the resources are scattered, the unit scale is small, and the development and construction coordination workload is large. Carrying out "city-wide photovoltaics" can effectively mobilize and give play to local enthusiasm, integrate resources to achieve intensive development, reduce peak power load, save and optimize distribution network investment, and guide residents to consume green energy. After the project is completed, it is expected to provide 3 billion kWh of green power and 2.18 million tons of carbon emission reduction each year, which will help optimize Daye's industrial structure and energy consumption structure, and help Daye quickly achieve peak carbon dioxide emissions and carbon neutrality. The goal is to build Daye into a demonstration city for the urbanization of Wuhan city circle and the main engine for the integrated development of Huangshi City, adding a strong impetus to become one of the top 50 counties in China.
