Recently, the first deep-water jacket platform in Asia, "Haiji No. 1", independently designed and built by CNOOC, was put into operation, marking that China has successfully opened up a new model for oil and gas development of deep-water fixed platforms. The design, construction and installation capabilities of deep-water super large jacket platforms have reached the world-class level, which is of great significance for promoting the increase of offshore oil and gas storage and production and ensuring national energy security.
Jacket platform is the most widely used offshore oil and gas production facility in the world, mainly composed of jacket, pile leg and topside. "Haiji No.1" is located in the sea area of the Pearl River Mouth Basin, with a total platform height of 340.5 meters, more than Beijing International Trade Building, and a total weight of more than 40000 tons. Both height and weight have set new records for China's offshore single oil production platform.
According to Wu Yiming, the general manager of Lufeng Oilfield Operation Area of CNOOC Shenzhen Branch, "Haiji No.1" is designed according to the worst sea conditions once in a century. The project team has overcome a series of world problems such as the super strong internal wave current in the South China Sea, the giant sand ridges on the seabed, and the precise launching of super large structures. It has innovatively applied two world first and 21 domestic first advanced technologies such as independent launching trusses, large span X-braces, and digital twin operation and maintenance, It has achieved all-round improvement from design and construction to operation and maintenance management.Editor/Ma Xue
