On November 16, 2022, the "Powerful Country", a large diameter slurry balanced shield machine jointly built by CRCC and China Railway 22nd Bureau, was launched in CRCC First Industrial Park. The excavation diameter of "Powerful Country" is 13.27m, which will be used for the construction of the "Qianhai Huanggang Port Section" project between Guangzhou, Dongguan and Shenzhen.

It is reported that the shield section of the project is 3511 meters long, with a minimum covering of 10.7 meters and a maximum buried depth of 46 meters. It passes through soft soil, soft upper and hard lower and hard rock strata for a long distance, and directly underpasses important buildings and structures and existing subway lines. The requirements for surface settlement control are high, and the construction is extremely difficult.

The Qianhai Huanggang Port Section of Guangzhou Dongguan Shenzhen Intercity Rail Transit passes through Shenzhen Qianhai Cooperation Zone, Nanshan District and Futian District, with a total length of 21.167 kilometers. After the completion of the line, it is of great significance to improve the intercity rail backbone network in Shenzhen coastal area, support the rapid construction of key development areas such as Qianhai Free Trade Zone and Dongguan Binhai New City, and build an intercity railway network in Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area.Editor/Ma Xue
