On June 6, 2023, the press conference of the Third China Africa Economic and Trade Expo was held in Changsha, Hunan. This year's China Africa Expo focuses on enhancing the sense of participation and gain of all parties, and building a hosting pattern of "Hunan setting up stage, national singing, and China Africa sharing".

Compared to the previous two sessions, the platform effect of this Expo is more prominent, and the impact of hosting the Expo continues to expand. As the largest national, international and comprehensive exhibition platform under the mechanism of the Forum on China–Africa Cooperation, the Secretariat of the Organizing Committee adheres to the concept of open and cooperative hosting, and will arrange more than 40 events during the event. This Expo is the first time to set up a high-end event hosted by national ministries and agencies. Nine ministries and agencies, including the State owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, the General Administration of Customs, the State Administration of Market Supervision, the Counsellor's Office of the Counsellors'Office, the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the State Food and Drug Administration, the All China Youth Federation, the All China Women's Federation, and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, will respectively host forums or seminars. The topics of the event will cover a wide range of areas related to China Africa cooperation, Further amplify the influence of the exhibition platform.

Shen Yumou, Director of the Hunan Provincial Department of Commerce, responded to reporters' questions and stated that the content of this exhibition is more innovative, and the characteristics of the event are fully reflected. The main exhibition hall is located in the Changsha International Convention and Exhibition Center, with an exhibition area of 100000 square meters, an increase of nearly 30000 square meters over the previous one. There are more exhibits and more contents. It is the first time to set up an exhibition area for the achievements of China Africa high-quality joint construction of the the Belt and Road to comprehensively display the new achievements of China Africa economic and trade cooperation in the new era; The first China Africa Women's Innovation and Entrepreneurship Achievement Exhibition has been established, focusing on showcasing new achievements in cooperation between China and Africa in the field of women.

The conference will build independent booths for 8 African countries as guests of honor, focusing on showcasing the characteristics and styles of each country in terms of image design. African enterprises and commodities exhibition will bring together good products from African countries, so that domestic consumers can not go abroad, and one-stop experience of African brand goods and featured products, such as essential oil from Madagascar, gems from Zambia, coffee from Ethiopia, wood carving from Zimbabwe, fresh flowers from Kenya, wine from South Africa, chili from Rwanda, Shea butter from Ghana, cosmetics from Senegal, etc. As the permanent offline exhibition hall of the Expo, the sub exhibition hall Gaoqiao Market will hold various and wonderful activities such as the Africa Good Things Online Shopping Festival, the live broadcast of goods, the African Barista Champion Challenge, and the Africa Good Things Promotion Fair. Welcome citizens and friends to visit and experience.

The cooperation results are more pragmatic, and the results of the meeting are expected. During the meeting, a batch of new cooperation projects, agreements, and achievements will be released in a centralized manner, injecting new vitality into the cooperation between China and Africa and showcasing the new strength of China Africa cooperation to the world. At present, the conference has collected 145 cooperation projects to be signed and docked during the conference, with a total amount exceeding 10 billion US dollars. During the meeting, the China Africa Trade Index will be officially released for the first time, using a digital and scientific evaluation system to provide a "barometer" for market entities to carry out economic and trade cooperation with Africa. We will continue to release a report on China Africa economic and trade relations, systematically reviewing the new progress made in China Africa economic and trade cooperation in recent years, and looking forward to new trends in future cooperation. In addition, nearly 20 achievements such as the report on the use of the RMB in Africa and classic cases of Chinese enterprises fulfilling their social responsibilities in Africa will be released in a centralized manner.

The service guarantee has become more refined, and the level of organizing meetings has been comprehensively improved. At this Expo, the Secretariat of the Organizing Committee recruited 350 volunteers, carefully selected 13 conference reception hotels, mobilized more than 100 provincial units, central units in Hunan, units directly under Changsha City, key enterprises and provincial cities and prefectures, and provided "one-on-one" reception services for African delegations, international organizations and financial institutions, delegations of sister provinces, regions and cities during the Expo; A docking service model of "government agencies, professional service companies, and volunteers" will be established for participating African countries. All 14 cities and states in the province will participate in the corresponding reception work, and each city and state will receive 2 African country delegations for corresponding communication. The Secretariat of the Organizing Committee will focus on improving the innovation, convenience, and intelligence level of the event, and strive to demonstrate in promoting the development of the exhibition industry and serving China Africa cooperation, providing more high-quality service guarantees, so that guests from both domestic and foreign parties can come and return satisfied.
