Recently, Zhang Jinjun, Deputy Secretary of the CNMC Party Committee and General Manager, met with a delegation led by visiting Canadian President of Ivanhoe Mining, Mana Klott, at the Beijing headquarters. The two sides had in-depth exchanges on further deepening cooperation and reached a broad consensus.

General Manager Zhang Jinjun, on behalf of Chairman Xi Zhengping, warmly welcomed the visit of President Mana Klott and his delegation, and introduced the recent reform and development of CNMC. He stated that since the signing of the strategic cooperation agreement in August 2020, both sides have conducted close cooperation in management and work, and established a friendly and mutual trust communication mechanism. In May 2023, the chairmen of both parties met on the next steps of cooperation and reached a consensus on cooperation. I hope that in the future, both parties can continue to leverage their respective advantages and increase cooperation in geological exploration, product supply, personnel training, refined management, ESG, and other areas according to the previously determined cooperation consensus, in order to work together to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.

President Mana Klott expressed sincere gratitude to General Manager Zhang Jinjun for his warm reception. She stated that the smooth operation of the Kamoa Kakula project cannot be achieved without the strong support of CNMC. With the phased development of the project and the close communication and cooperation between the two teams, more opportunities for cooperation will definitely be found. Both sides have much to learn from each other in advanced management concepts, refined management of mines, smelting processes, and other aspects. We hope that in the future, both sides can continue to leverage synergies and achieve more cooperative results.
