It is understood that the CASA-1000 project construction goal is to transfer electricity from Central Asian countries to South Asia, costing about $1.16 billion. The participating countries are Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan and Pakistan, and the project will help transfer electricity from Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan to Afghanistan and Pakistan. The foundation stone was laid by the leaders of the four countries in May 2016.
