[Two major power supply projects in Shanxi have been approved for construction] On March 18, 2024, the Shanxi Provincial Development and Reform Commission announced that the Taiyuan Houcun 500 kV Substation Main Transformer Capacity Expansion Project and the Longcheng 500 kV Main Transformer Expansion Project have been approved. After the completion of the two major projects, the reliability of power supply in relevant local areas will be improved, meeting the power supply needs of new loads, and improving the safe and stable operation level of the power grid. The main transformer capacity expansion project of Taiyuan Houcun 500kV substation is located in Houcun, Yangqu County. The main construction contents of the project include: the existing main transformer scale is 2 × 750 MVA, the new construction is 2 × 1000 MVA, and the installation of parallel capacitor banks. The estimated total investment is more than 170 million yuan. The Longcheng 500 kV Main Transformer Expansion Project is located in Beige Town, Xiaodian District. The existing main transformer has a scale of 2 x 1000 MVA, with an expansion of 2 x 1000 MVA. The project involves the adjustment and inversion of the Longcheng Kangning/Xiaodian and Longcheng Fendong 220 kV transmission lines, as well as the entire electrical, civil engineering, construction, HVAC, hydraulic, remote control, protection, communication, etc. according to the construction scale.
