On April 29, the second phase project of Hubei Energy Jingzhou coal and hot metal combined transport and storage Base (hereinafter referred to as "Jingzhou Coal Storage Base") was approved by the Hubei Provincial Development and Reform Commission. The project is an important part of Hubei Energy to build a national multimodal transport key demonstration base and Hubei coal emergency reserve and supply guarantee platform.

Jingzhou Coal Storage Base is located in Haojian Operation area, Jiangling Port District, Jingzhou City, Hubei Province. It is a key construction project of the "14th Five-Year Plan" of Hubei Province. It is located at the junction point of Haoji Railway, an important channel of "coal transportation from North to South", and the golden waterway of the Yangtze River. The construction of the project is conducive to the implementation of the national coal emergency reserve requirements, to ensure the supply of coal in Hubei Province and the surrounding areas, to give full play to the advantages of hot metal combined transport, reduce the transportation cost of coal and other bulk goods, and promote the high-quality development of areas along the river.

The second phase of the Jingzhou coal storage Base project will be based on the basic completion of the first phase of the project, planning the construction of a total of five bulk cargo berths, and the construction of land storage yard and railway lines and other supporting facilities. After the completion of the project, the design capacity of Jingzhou coal storage base terminal can reach 50 million tons, with 5 million tons of static coal storage capacity, which can meet the emergency coal demand of Hubei thermal power units for one month, and will give full play to the role of coal emergency reserve guarantee in the key period of the province's energy supply.
