[China can build an artificial sun and achieve new breakthroughs!] On June 6, 2024, China Energy Engineering announced that its key R&D project, the conceptual design research of the thermonuclear fusion power island, had successfully completed the expert final review. This milestone project was led by the Guangdong Institute, and jointly promoted by the Northeast Institute, the East China Institute and the Institute of Plasma Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Based on China's independently developed thermonuclear fusion experimental reactor, the project has conducted in-depth exploration and innovation in the field of engineering applications. Thermonuclear fusion is a nuclear reaction, specifically referring to the combination of hydrogen nuclei into heavier helium nuclei under specific conditions, and releasing huge energy.
