[China can build an artificial sun and achieve new breakthroughs!] On June 6, 2024, China Energy Engineering announced that its key R&D project, the conceptual design research of the thermonuclear fusion power island, had successfully completed the expert final review. This milestone project was led by the Guangdong Institute, and jointly promoted by the Northeast Institute, the East China Institute and the Institute of Plasma Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Based on China's independently developed thermonuclear fusion experimental reactor, the project has conducted in-depth exploration and innovation in the field of engineering applications. Thermonuclear fusion is a nuclear reaction, specifically referring to the combination of hydrogen nuclei into heavier helium nuclei under specific conditions, and releasing huge energy. If this reaction can be constrained and controlled in a specific area, a controlled thermonuclear reaction can be achieved. The reason why the sun continues to emit huge energy is based on this thermonuclear fusion process. Thermonuclear fusion experimental reactor projects in the world are often figuratively called "artificial suns." Once this experimental reactor project is successful, mankind will be able to obtain a clean and almost endless energy source, which will provide a major breakthrough in solving the energy crisis and environmental protection issues.Editor/Zhang Liyuan

  • [Sichuan 220 kV transmission project approved]
  • The Sichuan Provincial Development and Reform Commission has issued an approval letter for the 220 kV transmission project of the Muli Tangyang Photovoltaic Project. According to the 2024 power grid project approval plan, in order to meet the power transmission demand of the Tangyang Photovoltaic Power Station and promote the development and utilization of new energy in the region, it has agreed to construct the 220 kV transmission project of the Muli Tangyang Photovoltaic Project. The 220 kV transmission project of Muli Tangyang Photovoltaic Project will be constructed by Sichuan Huadian Muli Tangyang New Energy Co., Ltd. The project is located in Muli County, Liangshan Prefecture, with a total investment of 118.22 million yuan. The main content of the project construction plan is to improve the 220 kV output interval of Zhengxi Booster Station by one, and to build a 41.5 kilometer single circuit 220 kV overhead line from Tangyang Booster Station to Zhengxi Photovoltaic Booster Station, with a wire section of 2 x 400 square millimeters. • [The world's largest coal-based methanol project started]
  • On June 16, 2024, Xinjiang Qiya New Materials Co., Ltd. grandly started a 6 million tons per year coal-based methanol project in Xiheishan Industrial Park, Zhundong Economic and Technological Development Zone, Xinjiang. The project is the largest in the world. The total investment is as high as 30 billion yuan, and the estimated construction period is 48 months. The project makes full use of the coal resource advantages of Zhundong Development Zone, and converts coal into high-quality refined methanol through advanced processes such as gasification, transformation, purification, methanol synthesis, and methanol distillation. At the same time, the project actively integrates the concept of green, low-carbon and energy-saving, uses advanced process technology and domestic equipment demonstration, and is committed to becoming a high-quality demonstration project of modern coal chemical industry in the world, promoting the green, low-carbon, clean and efficient development and utilization of coal resources.
