With the growing global call for clean energy, the photovoltaic industry has once again become the focus of attention. On June 13, the much-anticipated SNEC PV+ 17th (2024) International Solar Photovoltaic and Smart Energy (Shanghai) Exhibition opened at the Shanghai National Convention and Exhibition Center. This exhibition brings together the elites of the global photovoltaic industry to discuss the innovation and development of photovoltaic technology.

At the exhibition site, Xing Guoqiang, chief technology officer of Tongwei Shares, accepted an interview with the media and expressed his unique views on the development trend and technology iteration of the photovoltaic industry.

In response to the photovoltaic industry through the cycle of the problem, Xing Guoqiang said that China's photovoltaic industry has experienced more than 20 years of rapid development, during which it has experienced four major crises, but each time with a more resilient attitude out of the dilemma, showing a spiraling development trend. He stressed that the current global demand for clean energy is still strong, photovoltaic as an important part of clean energy, its market potential is huge. With the continuous progress of photovoltaic technology and the continuous reduction of power generation costs, the photovoltaic industry will usher in a broader space for development.

Xing Guoqiang further pointed out that the expansion of the photovoltaic market will strongly promote the digestion of production capacity. With the popularization and application of photovoltaic technology, the future market is expected to absorb larger capacity, thereby promoting the sustainable development of the photovoltaic industry. He firmly believes that in the long run, the cyclical fluctuations of the photovoltaic industry will gradually weaken, and the market will show a more stable development trend.

Talking about the new and old iterations of photovoltaic technology in 2024, Xing Guoqiang said that the speed of N-type technology replacing P-type technology is accelerating. He predicts that by the end of 2024, N-type technology (dominated by TOPcon) will account for more than 70% of the market. This change will promote the photovoltaic industry to a more efficient, more stable and more reliable direction.

Xing Guoqiang also stressed the important role of technological innovation in the development of the photovoltaic industry. He said that Tongwei has been committed to the research and development and innovation of photovoltaic technology, and promotes the development of the photovoltaic industry to a higher level by constantly introducing new technologies and new products. He called on industry colleagues to work together to strengthen technology research and development and innovation, and promote the photovoltaic industry to achieve a better future.

At the end of the interview, Xing Guoqiang said that he is confident about the future of the photovoltaic industry. He believes that with the joint efforts of the world, the photovoltaic industry will usher in a broader space for development and make greater contributions to the sustainable development of human society.
