[China achieves first direct flight between the East and North Poles]On August 15, 2024, the Harbin Mohe Fuyuan polar series flight route was officially opened, marking the first direct flight between the Arctic and the East Pole in China. Fuyuan City is located at the easternmost point of China's land and is known as the "Eastern Pole of China" and the "First City in the East". Mohe City is located at the northernmost point of China, with the highest latitude and one of the best locations for observing the Northern Lights in China. Fuyuan and Mohe are over 1600 kilometers apart, and it takes nearly 20 hours to drive by road; Railway travel requires a transfer to Harbin, and the entire journey takes over 30 hours. After the opening of the direct flight route, the journey between the Arctic and the East Pole has been shortened to just over 2 hours. Passengers can welcome the first ray of sunshine in China in Fuyuan in the morning and enjoy the Northern Lights in Mohe at night.
