Li Da, Deputy Director of the Ecological Protection and Restoration Department of the National Forestry and Grassland Administration of China, revealed at the regular press conference of the Ministry of Natural Resources in August that as of now, the "Three North" project has completed comprehensive management tasks for more than 40 million acres. In 1978, the "Three North" project was officially launched, pioneering large-scale ecological construction in China. The symposium on strengthening the comprehensive prevention and control of desertification and promoting the construction of key ecological projects such as the "Three Norths" held in June 2023 proposed to strive for a tough battle in the "Three Norths" project within about 10 years.
