[Xinjiang Luntai Civil Airport starts construction and is expected to be completed by 2026]On August 29, 2024, Luntai County, Xinjiang held the August project scheduling and Luntai Civil Airport groundbreaking ceremony on the 28th. The concentrated construction of 9 projects, including Luntai Civil Airport and Luntai Shopping Center, with a total investment of 1.203 billion yuan, covering various fields such as transportation, urban construction, and people's livelihood development. The Luntai Civil Airport Project is one of the key construction projects of the Civil Aviation Administration of China and Xinjiang during the 14th Five Year Plan period. The total investment of the project is 707 million yuan, with a planned runway length of 2600 meters and a width of 45 meters. The terminal building covers an area of 3060 square meters, with the construction of four apron stands, one tower, and an 855 square meter air traffic control building. It can meet an annual passenger throughput of 400000 and an annual cargo and mail throughput of 800 tons. The construction of the Trans Guinea Railway has been completed, with plans to open 10 stations by the end of the year. It will transition from a dedicated mining line to a combination of passenger and freight transportation. Although the contract period is two years, the locomotives are already in place and the station will open two daily two-way trains upon completion. With the support of China Civil Engineering Corporation, the railway has opened up road rights to meet the transportation of 120 million tons of mines and activated agricultural logistics.
