[The Serbian highway project undertaken by Shandong enterprises has officially started] On September 10, 2024, it was learned from Shandong Expressway Group that the Serbian Zrenianin Expressway project, undertaken by the group, has officially entered the construction phase. The above-mentioned highway project is the first planning, design, and construction project implemented by a Chinese enterprise under the framework of the China Serbia Economic and Technological Cooperation Agreement in the field of infrastructure. It is also the largest infrastructure project currently implemented by Shandong enterprises in Serbia. The main line of the project is 105.4 kilometers long, with a maximum design speed of 130 kilometers per hour, connecting the Serbian capital Belgrade, the industrial city of Zrenianin, and the second largest city Novi Sad. It is a major transportation artery that runs through northern Serbia. After the completion of the project, it will achieve a breakthrough in the construction of highways in northern Serbia, greatly improving the level of interconnectivity between regions and effectively driving economic development along the route.
