[Construction of Cross border Highway Transport Distribution Center in Sichuan] On September 13, 2024, the Tianfu International Smart Trade Cloud Port and Sichuan Cross border Road Transport Distribution Center project started construction in Tianfu New Area, Sichuan. Cross border road transportation is known as the "fourth mode of transportation" and is an all road truck transportation method other than sea, rail, and air transportation. TIR international road transport based on the international road transport system (TIR system) prevails in Eurasia, and is now becoming an important logistics model of the the Belt and Road Initiative. The project is located in the emerging industrial park of Sichuan Tianfu New Area, adjacent to the Sichuan Tianfu New Area Bonded Logistics Center (Type B), with a total investment of approximately 500 million yuan (RMB) and a land area of 48 acres. In the future, the Chengdu Chongqing Cross border Highway Transportation Platform, Cross border E-commerce Resource Service Center, and International Consumer Brand Experience Hall will be built. It is planned to open nearly 10 cross-border highway dedicated lines, operate 1500 cross-border highway transportation buses annually, achieve an annual throughput of 1 million tons, and an annual foreign trade volume of 3 billion yuan.
