The two sides had an in-depth exchange of views on China-Russia relations, BRICS cooperation, multilateralism and the Ukraine crisis. Wang Yi stressed that the steady development of China-Russia relations has benefited from the guidance of the two heads of state, and expressed support for the work of the Russian BRICS presidency. For his part, Shoigu affirmed the achievements of Sino-Russian cooperation and looked forward to the complete success of the Kazan summit of BRICS leaders. The two sides also expressed their respective positions on the Ukraine crisis, and China reaffirmed its objective and fair attitude and is committed to promoting a political settlement of the crisis.
