On September 19, 2024, in Beijing, Chinese Minister of Transport Li Xiaopeng met with Kyrgyzstan's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture and Industrial Processing Torobayev, and the two sides had an in-depth and fruitful dialogue on strengthening cooperation between China and Kyrgyzstan in the field of transportation. During the talks, Kyrgyzstan's ambassador to China, Musaeva, also attended the meeting as a witness.

Minister Li Xiaopeng first extended a warm welcome to Torobayev and his entourage, and reviewed the long-term close cooperation between China and Kyrgyzstan in the field of transportation and the remarkable achievements made in recent years. He stressed that the two sides should actively respond to the spirit of the important instructions of the two heads of state, further deepen communication and cooperation, and especially show greater determination and action in speeding up the signing of the "Agreement between the Chinese and Kyrgyzstan Governments on the Construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan Friendship Bridge". At the same time, he proposed that the two sides should work together to promote the implementation of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway project, deepen cooperation in railways, highways, international road transport and other fields, continuously expand the fields of cooperation, enhance the level of cooperation, jointly promote the transportation connectivity between China and Kyrgyzstan to a new height, and promote more frequent and in-depth economic, trade and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.

Deputy Minister Torobayev expressed Kyrgyzstan's importance and expectation for China-Kyrgyzstan cooperation in transportation connectivity. He pointed out that Kyrgyzstan is willing to strengthen cooperation with China in the construction of port roads, railway electrification and trans-Caspian transportation, so as to promote the prosperity of exchanges between the two peoples and economic and trade activities with more convenient transportation conditions, and realize the vision of common development and prosperity of both sides.
