[Cathay Pacific Airways will open direct flights between Hong Kong and Dallas, USA]On September 24, 2024, direct flights between Hong Kong and Dallas Fort Worth International Airport in the United States will be launched for the first time, further expanding Cathay Pacific's North American route network. The new route has started accepting bookings and will make its maiden flight on April 24, 2025. Dallas Fort Worth International Airport will become Cathay Pacific's sixth passenger destination in the United States, bringing Cathay Pacific's North American destinations to eight. Cathay Pacific's Customer and Business President, Liu Kaishi, stated that with its unique positioning of being rooted in Hong Kong, backed by the motherland, and connected to the world, Cathay Pacific will continue to build Hong Kong as a top international aviation hub. Dallas Fort Worth International Airport is one of the busiest airports in the world. Customers can transfer to 190 destinations in the United States and 11 cities in Central and South America through Cathay Pacific's code sharing or other flights. On January 21, 2026, the feasibility study (second round) of the renovation and expansion project of the G50 Shanghai Chongqing Expressway Anhui Zhongming Shangshui Bridge section was announced, and Anhui Provincial Transportation Planning and Design Institute Co., Ltd. became the first candidate for the bid with a price of 5.68 million yuan. This section of highway will be expanded from a two-way four lane road to an eight lane road, with a total length of about 37 kilometers and a total investment of about 3.65 billion yuan. On January 21, 2026, CNOOC (Shanwei) Offshore Wind Power Co., Ltd., a joint venture between CNOOC and Mingyang Intelligent, will lead the Shanwei Honghai Bay Four Seas Wind Power Demonstration Project with a total investment of over 5.8 billion yuan. The project is planned to have an installed capacity of 500 megawatts and intends to install 28 18 megawatt fixed wind turbines, with an estimated construction period of 11 months. This cooperation is another major cross-border collaboration between the two parties in the field of offshore wind power, following the Hainan project.
