[The demonstration project of the National Key R&D Program has started construction]On September 24th, the key technology demonstration project for wide load peak shaving and ultra-low emissions of circulating fluidized bed boilers in the 14th Five Year National Key R&D Plan was officially launched at Shanxi Shuozhou Thermal Power Company. This project brings together top universities, research institutes, and power generation enterprises such as Huadian Shanxi Shuozhou Thermal Power Company, Tsinghua University, and Huadian Electric Power Research Institute. Its aim is to promote the development of circulating fluidized bed boiler technology to a new height of "two highs and two lows" through the integrated application of original technologies, such as efficient collaborative control of sulfur and nitrogen pollutants, rapid load adjustment, and ultra-low emissions of pollutants under a wide load. It will help coal-fired power generation enterprises achieve low-carbon and flexible transformation, and lay a solid technical foundation for building a new type of power system. Given that Shanxi, as an important energy base and pilot province for the electricity spot market, has a new energy installed capacity of over 55 million kilowatts, but the intermittency and volatility of new energy pose challenges to the stability of the power grid, this project will focus on solving the technical problems of circulating fluidized bed boilers during low load and peak shaving processes, increasing the unit load change rate by more than 30% and adding 10% peak shaving potential, thereby significantly enhancing the flexibility, economy, and reliability of coal-fired power generation units, and setting an example for the industry's green and low-carbon transformation.
