[Zhangzhou Nuclear Power Unit 4 Nuclear Island Construction Start]On September 27, 2024, China National Nuclear Corporation's Zhangzhou Nuclear Power Phase II project made significant progress. Unit 4 successfully poured the first concrete tank of the nuclear island, marking the full-scale construction of the Hualong One nuclear power plant in Zhangzhou and becoming another solid step in promoting China's transition from a nuclear power country to a nuclear power powerhouse. As the starting point for the mass construction of Hualong One, Zhangzhou Nuclear Power has started operating four units, all of which have maintained excellent safety and quality records. This project not only optimizes the energy structure of Fujian Province, but also indicates that Unit 1 will be put into operation for power generation in 2024, and other units are also being intensively promoted. The Hualong One, known as the national treasure, stands out in the global nuclear power field with its double-layer safety shell design and innovative concept of combining active and passive, becoming the third-generation nuclear power technology with the largest number of operating and under construction units, demonstrating China's international leading position in nuclear power technology. Its powerful power generation capacity can exceed 10 billion kilowatt hours per year, meeting the electricity needs of millions of people, while significantly reducing carbon emissions, equivalent to planting more than 70 million trees, demonstrating the strong potential of green development. The construction unit, CNNC 24 Zhangzhou Nuclear Power Project Department, continuously breaks through construction difficulties through advanced technologies such as modular construction, ensuring that the construction technology of Hualong One continues to lead the world.
