It was learned from the Southern Power Grid that on February 26the China-Laos 500 kV networking project officially startedconstruction. After the project is completed, it can transport 3billion kV of clean electricity every year.

According to reports, the China-Laos 500 kv networking projectstarted this time has a total transmission line of 183.5 kilometers. ltstarts in Udomsey Province, Laos and lands in Yunnan ProvinceChina. The construction of the project is divided into Laos sectionand China section. The Laos section line is about 35.5 kilometerslong and the Chinese section line is about 148 kilometers long. Theproject will build a new 500 kV substation.

The project is expected to be completed and put into operation in2026. After it is put into operation,the two-way power mutualassistance capacity between China and Laos is expected to reach 1.5million kilowatts of water, which can transport 3 billion kW of cleanelectricity each year.
