[The Rongchang Zigong Expressway Chongqing section project has been launched]On November 3rd, the Chongqing Rongchang to Zigong Expressway (Chongqing section) franchise project officially started construction in Guangfu Industrial Park, Rongchang District, marking the comprehensive launch of this major project to promote transportation interconnection between Sichuan and Chongqing. As a key component of the "Four Rings, 22 Shoots, and 60 Connected Lines" layout of Chongqing's expressway network, this project is led by Anhui Construction Engineering Group Co., Ltd., jointly invested and constructed by six units, and promoted through a franchise model. The route starts from Fenggao Street in Rongchang District, connects to the Chengdu Chongqing section of the G85 Yinkun Expressway, passes southwest through Zhisheng Town, Shuanghe Street, and Qingsheng Town, and ends at the Sichuan Chongqing border in Qingjiang Town, connecting with the Sichuan section. The total length is about 27.875 kilometers, constructed according to the two-way four lane standard, with a design speed of 100 kilometers per hour. There are a total of 5 interchanges and 1 service area, with a total investment of about 3.614 billion yuan and a construction period of 3 years. This section is an important transportation support for promoting the integrated development of the Chengdu Chongqing main axis. After completion, it will significantly enhance the connectivity capacity of the southern Sichuan and western Chongqing regions, effectively promote the flow of factors, industrial coordination, and integration of people's livelihoods between regions, further optimize the road network structure of adjacent areas between Sichuan and Chongqing, enhance the westward radiation function of the main city new area, inject new momentum into the economic and social development of Rongchang and the construction of the Chengdu Chongqing dual city economic circle, and have profound significance for accelerating the process of regional transportation integration.
