[National Energy Molten Salt Thermal Storage Project put into operation] The National Energy Group continues to promote the construction of new energy storage. As of the end of October 2025, there are 191 new energy storage projects in operation, with a total scale of 7.7 million kilowatts/18.39 million kilowatt hours. Among them, the molten salt thermal storage project has made significant breakthroughs. The "thermal power+molten salt" energy storage project (211 MW/1000 MWh) of Anhui Suzhou Power Plant was put into operation in August 2025, and the molten salt energy storage project (100 MW/400 MWh) of Hebei Longshan Power Plant was put into operation in April 2025. These projects effectively enhance the grid regulation capability through valley heat storage and peak energy release. The Suzhou Power Plant project can meet the heat needs of more than 40 local enterprises, and the multi-source extraction technology used in the Longshan Power Plant project has been identified as internationally leading. The National Energy Group will continue to deepen innovation in energy storage technology, providing important support for building a new type of power system and promoting energy transformation.
