[5-hour long-term energy storage benchmark!] In November 2025, another large-scale long-term energy storage project in China officially entered the preparation stage for investment and construction. The feasibility study report for a battery energy storage power station with a total scale of 200MW/1000MWh has been approved, and it is planned to start construction in the first quarter of 2026 and achieve full capacity grid connected operation in the first half of 2027. The total investment of this project exceeds 1.2 billion yuan, and it is located in a domestic area rich in new energy. With a core highlight of 5-hour ultra long discharge time and high safety liquid cooling technology, it will become the "stabilizer" and "regulator" of the new regional power system, setting an industry standard for the commercial application of long-term energy storage. As a typical "large capacity, long-term" energy storage project, this power station adopts a combination of lithium iron phosphate energy storage batteries and liquid cooled temperature control system, with an energy storage capacity of 1000MWh and a designed discharge time of 5 hours, far exceeding the current mainstream 2-4 hour energy storage project standards in the market. The project plans to construct energy storage battery compartments, PCS power conversion compartments, energy storage inverters, and supporting boost stations. The core equipment will be domestically developed products with millisecond response speed, system conversion efficiency of over 92%, and a lifespan of over 10000 charge and discharge cycles. Through the intelligent energy management system, power stations can achieve coordinated scheduling with wind and photovoltaic power stations, accurately stabilize fluctuations in new energy output, and undertake auxiliary services such as grid peak shaving, frequency regulation, and backup, greatly improving the grid's ability to absorb clean energy.Editor/Bian Wenjun
