[Panzhihua Liangshan natural gas pipeline starts construction] The construction of the Panzhihua Liangshan natural gas pipeline started in Xichang City, Liangshan Prefecture. The long-awaited project has entered the substantive construction stage, and after completion, it will end the history of Liangshan Prefecture's lack of pipeline natural gas. At present, residents in Liangshan Prefecture mostly use canned or bottled gas, which is expensive and requires transportation by tanker trucks from other places. As early as 2012, the government of Liangshan Prefecture decided to extend the Panzhihua branch of the China Myanmar natural gas pipeline to Liangshan. The relevant process accelerated in 2018, and the project was approved in June this year. The pipeline has a total length of about 157 kilometers, a designed annual transmission capacity of 630 million cubic meters, a total investment of about 992.17 million yuan, a construction period of 18 months, and is planned to be put into operation in June 2027.
