[China Power Construction Corporation wins a major photovoltaic order in the Philippines] On December 16th, a contract was signed in Manila, giving a new mission to the blue sky and sunshine of Cebu, Philippines. ACCIONA Energ í a, a Spanish company, has officially awarded the "turnkey" project contract for the 180 MWac solar power plant in Daanbantayan to China Electric Power Construction Group, marking the beginning of the comprehensive construction phase of this clean energy project with a total investment of approximately 7 billion pesos (about 120 million US dollars). China Power Construction Corporation will be responsible for the entire process of power station design, procurement, construction, and two-year operation and maintenance. The project plans to install over 300000 high-efficiency components and connect them to the grid at full capacity by the end of 2026. It is expected to generate an average of 280 gigawatt hours of electricity per year, which can meet the electricity needs of about 130000 households and reduce carbon emissions by nearly 200000 tons per year. This project is the first large-scale photovoltaic PPP project led by a local government in the Philippines. ACCIONA Energ í a has pioneered a cooperation model of "foreign investment+local support" with the government of Cebu Province, taking advantage of the Philippine government's policy allowing foreign investors to hold wholly-owned shares in the renewable energy sector. As one of the core projects of ACCIONA Energ í a's green energy layout in the Philippines, the power station will provide strong support for the Visayas regional power grid after completion, helping the Philippines achieve the national goal of renewable energy accounting for 35% by 2027.
