[The Chongqing Guizhou and Hunan Guizhou Power Mutual Aid Project has started construction]On December 25, 2025, the Chongqing Guizhou and Hunan Guizhou Power Flexible Mutual Aid Project officially started construction, marking a crucial step for Guizhou in building a power hub in the southwest region. The dynamic investment for both projects is about 4.95 billion yuan, with a total of about 210 kilometers of new construction in the Guizhou section. After the completion of the project, an additional 3 million kilowatts of inter provincial bidirectional power transmission capacity will be added, effectively promoting deep complementarity between Guizhou, Chongqing, and Hunan in seasonal electricity, surplus electricity adjustment, and emergency support. This not only strengthens the interconnection between the two major systems of State Grid and Southern Power Grid, improves the efficiency of cross provincial optimization of energy resource allocation, provides solid physical support for building a unified national electricity market, but also provides stronger guarantees for the economic and social development and people's electricity demand in the three provinces (cities). On December 29, 2025, the construction of the GCL Digital Finance Center began in the Dayuwan area of Kunshan High tech Zone. As the core engine of Kunshan's "Science and Technology Innovation Corridor", the project has a total investment of about 5 billion yuan and a total construction area of about 340000 square meters. The project is positioned as an "ecological+livable+innovative" urban science and technology innovation reception hall, which will integrate four major business formats: scientific research office, trendy commerce, top hotels, and urban supporting facilities. It is expected to have an annual output value of over 10 billion yuan in the future. This marks a crucial step for Kunshan in promoting the deep integration of "industry, city, and people" and laying out a new track for artificial intelligence, injecting new momentum into the high-quality development of the city.Editor/Cheng Liting
On December 28, 2025, the installation of the nuclear island for Unit 1 of China HUANENG Shidao Bay Nuclear Power Expansion Phase I Project officially began. The project will construct two nuclear power units using China's third-generation "Hualong One" technology, with a single capacity of 1.2 million kilowatts and a construction period of 60 months. The project will commence construction in July 2024 and is planned to be completed and put into operation in 2029. By then, it will provide approximately 20 billion kilowatt hours of clean electricity annually, equivalent to reducing standard coal consumption by 5.78 million tons and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 14 million tons, effectively promoting the green and low-carbon transformation of energy in Shandong Province. The project adopts the management mode of the main owner, and has laid a solid foundation for the smooth progress of the project by establishing a three-level supervision system and promoting the application of more than 100 advanced construction technologies.Editor/Cheng Liting
