[Xinjiang introduces new regulations to promote source network load storage collaboration]Recently, the Development and Reform Commission of Xinjiang Autonomous Region issued a notice clarifying that it will accelerate the promotion of green power direct connection and incremental distribution network consumption mode. The document requires adhering to the principle of "load determines source", ensuring synchronous construction and operation of power sources and loads, and enhancing system regulation capabilities through the configuration of energy storage or virtual power plants. The principle of project access voltage shall not exceed 220 kV, and no reverse power transmission shall be allowed to the grid before the operation of the electricity spot market. China Construction Eighth Engineering Bureau First Construction Co., Ltd. has become the first candidate for winning the bid with a price of about 1.155 billion yuan/Wh; China Electric Power Construction Group Shandong Electric Power Construction Co., Ltd. has a price of about 1.2148 billion yuan/Wh; Henan Shidi Construction Engineering Co., Ltd. has a price of about 1.165 billion yuan/Wh. On January 19, 2026, the first phase of the Zhongshan Nanlang Energy Storage Power Station project located in the hinterland of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area was successfully put into operation. This project is supplied by domestic manufacturer Shangneng Electric, with a scale of 100MW/200MWh. It is the first large-scale grid side independent energy storage power station built and put into operation in Zhongshan City.
