On January 22nd, with the successful production of the first batch of metal rhenium particles on the 4N/5N high-purity rhenium production demonstration line of Jinchuan Group's R&D center, it marks a key technological breakthrough for the group in the field of independent research and development of high-purity dispersed metals, and a significant leap from scientific research to industrial application, injecting strong impetus into the upgrading of the group's dispersed metal industry chain towards high added value and high-tech content.High purity rhenium is known as the "taste soul" of modern aviation industry and is an essential core element for manufacturing the new generation of single crystal high-temperature alloy blades for aircraft engines. Its unique performance enables the blades to maintain structural strength and stability in extreme environments exceeding 1200 degrees Celsius, directly determining the engine's thrust, efficiency, and reliability. It is the "lifeline" for major heavy vehicles to soar in the blue sky. For a long time, the stable supply of ultra-high purity rhenium has been an important strategic high point in the international high-end materials field, and also a key link in China's independent and controllable industrial chain.
The R&D Center of Jinchuan Group relies on the "National Key Laboratory for the Development and Comprehensive Utilization of Nickel Cobalt Co Co Associated Resources" platform, and focuses on the efficient comprehensive utilization of rare metal resources in response to national strategic needs and the group's industrial development layout. In June 2025, the demonstration project for the preparation of 4N/5N high-purity rhenium particles will be launched. The project team achieved efficient progress with the spirit of tackling difficulties, adopting an efficient mechanism of "on-site construction compliance procedures equipment procurement" in parallel. The project implementation cycle was greatly compressed, and ultimately achieved "project approval and production in the same year" within 7 months, realizing the rapid transformation and application of scientific research achievements.

The successful operation of this demonstration line not only broadens the value conversion path of Jinchuan Group's associated resources to high-purity materials, but also strongly supports the extension of the group's industrial chain towards deep processing and high-end applications. In the future, the Institute of Clean Metallurgy and Environmental Engineering will build on this foundation, closely focusing on the core technology list for the comprehensive utilization of rare metals in the group's "15th Five Year Plan", continuously deepening research on key technologies for high-purity material preparation, and constructing an integrated innovation system of "basic research process development industrial application".Editor/Bian Wenjun
