[Largest Sodium-Ion Battery Project in China Completes First Phase]Recently, the first phase of the Honghu City 100 MW/200 MWh sodium ion energy storage power station demonstration project, constructed by China Power Construction, has passed the completion acceptance. This project is one of the first pilot demonstration projects for new energy storage in Hubei Province. The completed capacity in this phase is 50 MW/100 MWh, and a new 50 MW 110 kV substation and a 110 kV transmission line will be built to connect to the 110 kV Maojiang substation. The power station is currently the largest sodium ion battery energy storage project under construction in China, constructed by Hubei Engineering Company, a subsidiary of China Power Construction Corporation, reflecting China's progress in the application of new energy storage technologies.Editor/Yang Meiling
On April 3, 2026, the domestically developed maximum diameter 13.2-meter hard rock TBM by CCCC Tianhe started construction in Changshu. The machine is equipped with 7600 domestically produced rare earth special steel main bearings developed by the Institute of Metals, Chinese Academy of Sciences, with a rated life of over 15000 hours and performance exceeding imports. This move marks China Communications Construction Corporation's first achievement of 100% localization of core components for ultra large diameter tunneling machines, completely bridging the last mile of national production of major underground engineering equipment in China.Editor/Cheng Liting
