[Australia: 120 gigawatt hours of energy storage can provide 98.5% renewable energy supply] The latest simulation study shows that the Australian national electricity market can achieve nearly 100% renewable energy supply with only 24 gigawatts/120 gigawatt hours of energy storage, of which renewable energy accounts for 98.5% and the remaining 1.5% is supplemented by other energy sources. This simulation is based on actual electricity data since August 2021, scaling wind and photovoltaic power generation to 60% and 45% of annual demand, respectively, and utilizing existing hydropower synergy balance. • On August 7, 2026, the first phase of the 100MW/200MWh project of the independent energy storage power station in Jinxian County officially started construction. This is the first provincial-level new energy storage pilot demonstration project in Jiangxi Province and the first independent energy storage project to start construction in Nanchang City. The overall planned installed capacity of the project is 300MW/600MWh. After being put into operation, it will make up for the shortcomings of local photovoltaic wind power and energy storage, and enhance the reliability of regional power grid supply and the ability to absorb new energy.
