A straight and wide road blueprint is slowly unfolding between the Gobi Desert and oases in eastern Xinjiang. It not only carries millions of transportation construction funds, but also embodies the urgent expectation of Hami to reshape its development pattern and connect its economic bloodline. Recently, with the official launch of the bidding process for the franchise operator of the G575 highway construction project from Hami to Nanhu, this major project with a total investment of over 2.5 billion yuan has entered the substantive promotion stage, injecting strong transportation power into the high-quality development of Hami and even the entire region.

72.8 kilometers, connecting the development of the Ren and Du meridians
The project construction site covers Yizhou District in Hami City, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, and Rocket Farm in Xinxing City of the 13th Division of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps. The geographical location is crucial. The road with a total length of 72.808km will be constructed according to the standard of first-class highway, designed as a two-way four lane road, and its load level is Highway-I. This is not just a simple connection between two points, but also a key piece in the puzzle of building a three-dimensional transportation network that integrates air, rail, and public transportation in Hami City.
The specific scale of the project is clearly visible: 20 bridges with a total length of 728 meters will be constructed along the entire line, 114 culverts will be set up, and 33 level crossings and 3 interchanges will be built. In addition, supporting facilities such as mainline toll stations, ETC gantries, service areas, maintenance work areas, monitoring centers, and overload control stations are fully equipped, aiming to comprehensively ensure the safety and efficient operation of future highways. The total planned construction period of the project is 2 years. It is expected to start construction in May 2026 and be completed and opened to traffic in May 2028. The specific time will be determined according to the actual progress.

2.5 billion investment, with a cost of over 34 million yuan per kilometer
Behind the massive project lies a clear investment composition. The estimated total investment for the project is 2506218788 yuan, with an average construction cost of 3442.2299 yuan per kilometer. This fund is detailed as follows: construction and installation costs of approximately 1.9 billion yuan, land use and demolition compensation costs of approximately 200 million yuan, other construction costs of approximately 130 million yuan, reserve funds of approximately 200 million yuan, and loan interest during the construction period of approximately 68.84 million yuan.
This bidding strictly follows the principles of openness, fairness, and impartiality, aiming to select franchisees with rich experience and strong capabilities. In the future, the winning bidder will be fully responsible for the investment, construction, operation, and maintenance of the project. All project data shall be based on the Franchise Plan, and any subsequent adjustments shall be based on the final approval document.

Empower the East Gate and integrate into the overall landscape
The construction of the G575 highway from Hami to Nanhu is far more than just the birth of one road. It is an important lever for Hami City to promote the modernization of infrastructure, serve rural revitalization, and activate new driving forces for high-quality regional development. After the completion of the project, it will greatly improve the regional highway network structure, significantly shorten the time and space distance, and enhance the traffic capacity and service level.
More importantly, it will directly assist in the development of local energy resources and modern logistics industry, driving economic vitality along the route. As the east gate of Xinjiang, this artery will provide a solid transportation guarantee for Hami to more smoothly integrate into the construction of the core area of the the Belt and Road, so as to continuously deliver power for the high-quality economic and social development of the whole region. A road connects not only geographical space, but also opportunities for development and hope for the future.Editor/Yang Meiling
