In 2026, China's new energy storage track will accelerate comprehensively. As of the end of the first quarter, the cumulative installed capacity in China has exceeded 85GW, a year-on-year increase of over 40%, and Shaanxi has firmly ranked among the top tier in the country with a scale of over 6GW. In this context, the 400MW/1.2GWh new independent energy storage project in Weiyang District, Xi'an has officially started construction along the North Third Ring Road, with a total investment of over 2.2 billion yuan and an area of about 88 acres. After completion, the annual discharge capacity will be 610 million kWh, providing millisecond level stable power support for the northern power grid of Xi'an.

400MW Large Capacity Energy Storage in Xi'an
The project construction scale reaches 400MW/1.2GWh, with a maximum single charge and discharge capacity of 1.2 million kWh, which can meet the daily electricity demand of 60000 households. As one of the few hundred megawatt level independent energy storage power stations in the northwest region, after being connected to the northern power grid of Xi'an, it can effectively alleviate the peak pressure of regional electricity consumption and significantly improve the power grid's peak shaving and frequency regulation capabilities.
Balancing fast response and long-term energy storage
The project adopts a mixed energy storage technology of lithium iron phosphate and all vanadium liquid flow, which has the dual advantages of fast response and long-term energy storage. Lithium iron phosphate batteries are responsible for millisecond level power output, while all vanadium flow batteries undertake high-capacity, long-term charging and discharging tasks.
