The drilling rotation steering system SINOMACS ATSⅠ developed by Sinopec Group has been working continuously for approximately 6 days and 141 hours in the well 913-inclined 80 of Shengli Oilfield, Shandong, with a footage of 857 meters and a maximum build rate of 6.6 degrees per 30 meters.

The drilling rotation steering system is equivalent to adding clairvoyance to the drill bit. The advantage is that it can control the downhole drilling direction in real time, efficiently and accurately realize a single drilling through the target formation, and achieve efficient drilling engineering construction. There are many professional fields involved in this technology. The technical content is very high, and the difficulty of research and development has left many enterprises out of reach.

The drilling engineering construction guidance system developed by Sinopec Group with independent intellectual property rights has shown that the four major modules that make up the system have achieved ideal results after the Shengli Oilfield test. The downhole steering control is reliable, and already has the conditions for industrial applications.
