The Polish group recently released an innovative energy technology called Multifuel, which can simultaneously use hydrogen, natural gas, or any combination of the two for power generation and heating. This breakthrough solution was jointly developed by PKN ORLEN and partner Horus Energia and is currently being put into commercial use. Strong compatibility and significantly improved efficiency

The Multifuel system is suitable for large gas engines with a power range of 300kFuel to 2MWel, and can be integrated into new or existing generator sets to increase power generation efficiency by up to 5%. This system is widely applicable to industrial scenarios, including energy centers, regional power clusters, electric vehicle charging stations, and public facilities that require high demand for stable or backup power sources.

Intelligent control achieves seamless fuel switching

The core advantage of this technology lies in its real-time fuel switching function. The system is equipped with independent hydrogen and natural gas supply pipelines, which are dynamically adjusted by an intelligent control system to ensure fuel ratio optimization without shutting down or affecting output power. Prototype testing has shown that compared to traditional gas engines, using a mixture of hydrogen and natural gas as fuel can safely increase power generation efficiency by over 5%.
