Makadamwerk Schwaben GmbH & Co. KG had a very clear goal when it refurbished a factory under its name. At the main base in southwestern Germany, the asphalt manufacturer decided to build a factory that combines high performance, high quality with advanced environmental protection technology. As one of the most modern facilities in Europe, the Almaty ABP 320 HRT asphalt mixing plant that the company has purchased for the plant is now officially put into operation.
Swabian Pavement Materials has 5 asphalt mixing plants in Stuttgart and Allen in Baden-Württemberg, providing high-quality asphalt mixtures for many local road construction projects. Its partners include EUROVIA, a world-leading company in the field of road construction and old material recycling, and the well-known local construction contractor Wolff & Müller. In 2019, when the company was considering upgrading its plant in Sindelfingen, it firmly believed that the close cooperation between itself and the Almaty Group would once again bear the best results.
For general manager Volker Schneider and his team, this time the main focus is on sustainable development-reducing emissions and increasing the use of recycled materials are the top priorities of the new plant. Almaty ABP HRT asphalt mixing plant is simply a tailor-made solution for this. HRT refers to "high-proportion recycling technology", which represents the latest progress in the field of environmental protection technology, which can realize the recycling of old materials without sacrificing the output and the quality of the asphalt mixture. The original design enables the ABP HRT mixing station to theoretically add 100% RAP. The hot air generator gently heats the recovered material in the RAH100 counter-flow regeneration drum, and the large-scale steam treatment system provides the possibility of combining cold and heat recovery.
Relying on the technologically advanced concept and equipment of "high-proportion recycling technology", Swabian Pavement Materials Company has achieved a high level of old material recycling. A unique feature of the entire ABP HRT recycling system is its vertical design. The regenerating drum placed directly above the mixing tank only uses gravity to move the material, saving costs and eliminating the need for frequent maintenance of the conveyor system. In addition, the use of gravity can also reduce energy input, minimize wear and tear, and optimize the delivery of heat recovery materials. Compared with conventional mixing equipment, dust and noise emissions are also significantly reduced. When producing low-temperature asphalt, the mixing plant is equipped with an innovative foamed asphalt additive. Even in the production of special mixtures such as asphalt mastic, there are no special requirements. The double-row main tower structure promotes a highly flexible mixing process through the use of different minerals and aggregates. “From the early planning stage, we have ensured that the peripheral equipment of the entire mixing plant is connected to the existing infrastructure,” said Volker Behrens, sales manager of Ammann Asphalt GmbH. This careful preparation in advance enables the subsequent installation process to proceed smoothly. Keywords: engineering construction, engineering news
Only seven months after the demolition of the old factory began, the brand-new Almaty ABP 320 HRT asphalt mixing plant was officially put into production at the grand opening ceremony on September 25, 2021. Since then, the equipment's production capacity has reached 320 t/h; at the Sindelfingen plant, "HRT" has become synonymous with flexible and economical solutions. As one of the most outstanding equipment on the market in terms of exhaust gas treatment, dust removal and noise reduction, Almaty ABP HRT asphalt mixing plant is like a lighthouse, guiding Swabian Pavement Materials Company on the road of sustainable development.Editor/XingWentao
