As the threat of the current pandemic recedes, Vietnam is planning to develop its transportation infrastructure to boost economic growth. The plan is formulated by the Ministry of Transport of Vietnam. One of the priority projects will be the eastern section of the North-South Expressway. The project cost about 6.46 billion US dollars and has a total length of 729 kilometers. It is divided into 12 sections, each of which is constructed using the PPP model.

Meanwhile, the necessary approvals have been obtained for three new road works connecting Long Thanh International Airport in Dong Nai Province. Roads run between the airport and Long Thanh City, Cam My, Thong Nhat and Dinh Quan. The most expensive part of the $862 million project will be the 53km 770B road, while the DT773 road will benefit from an additional 51km and the DT769 will be improved. In addition, a financing package for the My An-Cao Lanh Expressway is being authorised. The route will improve transportation in the Mekong Delta. Completing the project is expected to cost $2 billion. The Korea Development Economic Cooperation Fund is providing nearly $159 million worth of loans to help support the project.
